Last Saturday morning (12/12), John Street, a good friend, father, and member of our LOCC congregation, was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident on the 210 freeway in Pasadena.  His wife, Michele and their three children Sebastian, 9, Sasha, 7, and Jagger, 5, are devastated, as is his daughter Ivy, a teenager from a previous marriage.

Our church family is heartbroken and grieving with this family.  It was always special to see how his kids would always run up to him and wrap their arms around his neck and hug him for a long time.  They truly loved their dad.

The congregation has taken up a special offering to help them through this horrendous event, unfortunately, John had no life insurance.  The family is in dire financial straights and is living with Michele’s parents in an effort to survive in these difficult financial times with three children and a part time job at a day care facility.  This need is bigger than our small congregation and close friends can manage alone.

With the permission of Pastor Jon Karn, and as God leads you, we are asking you to give any amount you can afford to this hurting family.  Please send any gift, check or money order written to Light on the Corner Church (or LOCC), and in the memo line write “Street Family”.  100% of all you give will go directly to the family.  If you provide a return address, the church will send you a tax deductible receipt.

We may be able to look into setting up a foundation or trust on a long term basis to assist with the needs of the children’s future education, but right now, they just need to survive the next few months until they are back on their feet.
